Saigon Food Tour Explore the best local food

About the tour

It is a private food tour around Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam (known locally as Saigon) for 1-4 people, typically lasting 2 or 3 hours, but I can be flexible to shape the schedule around you. If you want to see more then we can even do multiple days. You'll need to pay for the food, of course. Saigon is a large city and to find the very best food, you need to explore outside of District 1's tourist zone. Luckily the taxis are very cheap and there's delicious food to suit every budget.

  • Customised tour to your tastes.
  • Eat traditional Vietnamese food with locals!
  • Learn about the food - I've spent months researching and exploring the food in Vietnam!
  • Experience some of the best food in Saigon, including some local favourites you won't find on TripAdvisor or Lonely Planet.
  • If you're vegetarian, don't like spicy food or have any other preferences, just let me know. The tour is tailored to you!

Pricing

Standard price for a 2-3 hour tour is $10 per adult (children are free). Food, drink & taxis are not included as everything is optional and the tours are fully customised to your tastes, but you can expect the food to cost only about $5 per person.

Book a tour!

Please send an email to tours@ and specify when you'd like to do the tour, along with any dietary requirements.

Update: I'm currently away from Saigon but please feel free to email me with any questions or use my self-guided food tour of Saigon instead.

What to expect

The fully customised tours may include some of the following...

Bún Thịt Nướng

My favourite dish in Vietnam. It has a perfect blend of flavours and textures. It's a national favourite but most tourists never try it. I've tried dozens of places to find you the best!

Bánh mì

Vietnam's take on the baguette. Almost every street has a stall selling these delicious sandwiches, but I'm very picky and have found some of the best versions in the city for you to try.

Bò Né

Tender beef, egg and other tasty treats arrive to your table still sizzling away on a metal griddle shaped like a cow. It's not to be missed!

Vietnamese Coffee

Strong and bitter with optional sweet milk, the Vietnamese have a very distinctive and delicious coffee which is served in an iconic metal drip filter.

Phở

Vietnam's most famous dish around the world. Learn how to eat it and have an authentic version to compare with what you have back home.

A selection of other dishes

The tour can be tailor-made to your tastes. The length and number of stops is up to you. It's best if we discuss what type of tour you're looking for either beforehand or we can meet on the day and talk about it then.

Craft Beer Tour

There is now a thriving craft beer scene in Saigon and I've sampled beers from all of the local breweries, so if you're interested I can include some of Vietnam's best beer in to the food tour.

Location

I can meet you at your hotel or we can arrange a convenient meeting place in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
